Founded in 1992 by Richard Rochester, Magic Tours is the oldest walking tour company in New Orleans. Dr. Stan Gallien purchased the company in 2004 after having managed the business for two years. Dr. Gallien is a retired university professor of history and has written the basic outline of each of the company tours; which include:

In addition, customized private tours are offered upon request. The General Manager is Dawn Grosheider, a licensed tour guide with years of experience in the hospitality industry.

Magic Tours is “The Alternative Tour for Intelligent Travelers”. The company takes pride in offering historically accurate tours. Among our guides are professors, historians, and journalists. All guides are licensed and trained by our experienced guides prior to joining the staff. Our guide, Randy Bibb was recognized as the number four (4) tour guide in the world and the number one (1) tour guide in the Continental United States by the Tour Guide Awards program. He was chosen from among 26,000 eligible guides from 208 countries.

Magic Tours offers a limited schedule on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day; we are closed on Mardi Gras Day each year.
